My background and initial training are in visual arts and cultural history and design studying these at Manchester Polytechnic and graduating with a BA (Hons) in 1991. I then went on to train as a secondary school art teacher at Goldsmiths College of London in 1994 and taught in the formal education system in the south and NE of England for a further 8 years.
Around 2002, after extensive travels to India, time out to pursue other interests including dance and drama training and with broader horizons I officially became 'freelance'. In the last five years I have gained experience facilitating and teaching art, dance and drama to a range of age groups and abilities from 0 - 90. I now manage and deliver arts programs, workshops and sessions in education, community and health settings.

In 2007 my partner and I set up WeeSpiders, an arts organization which uses and teaches about new technologies and digital media combining with more traditional processes including the performing arts to learn about and from nature and culture.

I believe that creativity is an energizing and experiential process natural to everyone. Given the right environment, we can all enjoy and develop our preferences, skills and abilities. My artistic style and approach to making art work and delivering projects reflects this essence of diversity whilst finding new contexts and different materials to express meaning.
I see art as a way of celebrating life.
